The BBC spoke to Canadians in Toronto and Montreal to find out what they’re optimistic about heading into 2026.

It ranged from stronger ties with Europe and more affordable housing to a brighter outlook for the country’s future, along with renewed focus on tackling homelessness and strengthening the economy.
