Many Thanksgiving travellers across the US will experience a white holiday as a winter storm leaves behind a fresh blanket of snow. In the Midwest, blizzard conditions have led to hazardous road collisions.
Winter storm alerts and hazardous weather outlooks have been issued for parts of Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin.
Another storm is expected on 29 November, which will bring additional snowfall to western and central states.
