The U.K. government will meet its self-imposed fiscal rules with an increased margin for error after measures to be announced in its budget Wednesday, the Office for Budget Responsibility said.
Under those rules, the government must pay for day-to-day spending with revenues from taxes, and without borrowing, by the fiscal year ending March 2030. It’s debt must also be falling as a share of economic output by that time.
